Thoro'Bred Hind Regular Plain Aluminum Racing Plates 
   

The most popular hind pattern racing plate in the USA. Features a regular height toe grab and plain heels for protection. Five nail hole pattern in size 5 and above. Available with side clips to help prevent the plate from moving back on the hoof and becoming loose between shoeings. Thoro'Bred Hind Quarter Horse Plain Aluminum Racing Plates 
   

Same as the Regular Plain except for the Quarter Horse Toe Grab. Used by both thoroughbreds and quarter horses for increased traction and drive, it also can be beneficial for larger horses. Thoro'Bred Hind Wedge Aluminum Racing Plates 
   

Raises the angle of the heels to a more natural position. The tapered angle is 1 5/8 degree from toe to heel. Available with side clips to help prevent the plate from moving back on the hoof and becoming loose between shoeings. Thoro'Bred Sizes 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8.

The toe area is angled back to allow ease of break over. The heels are full and raised to the height of the steel wear blank locvated in the toe area, providing four point balanced support. Thoro'Bred Sizes 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8.

This is a new idea in hind plates that closely resembles a "turn down" hind racing plate. The XT Toe grab is set back to give the horse a more efficient angle for grip, and the heels are nearly the same height as the toe. The plate is almost level, allowing the horse a more natural stance which can reduce the strain on the spine and hocks. XT Toe height is .080 (2 mm) above the aluminum surface. Thoro'Bred Hind Level Grip Aluminum Racing Plates 
   

Raised outside rim for improved traction and balance. Provides 180 degrees of gripping surface. Thoro'Bred applied for a patent on the Level Grip, but our application was rejected. The reason - the design was traced back to the 16th century, Ming Dynasty, China. Thoro'Bred Sizes 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7.

The Queens Plate is for tracks that do not allow inserts, calks or toe grabs that protrude above the plate. This reduces tendon strain and muscle pulls. Available in front and hind. Sizes: 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8. 5 Nail Hole Pattern in Sizes 5 - 6 -7 - 8.

The Silver Queen Hind is available in flat or with XT toe.  It has a step down section on the inside of the toe area like the fronts, to give more traction without increasing the height.  The Silver Queen has multiple nail hole, a thicker cross section with sole relief and side grooving to give more traction.

Shoeing all competition horses for top performance requires experienced farriers who under-stand anatomy and conformation, especially in the legs and hooves. Knowing where the center of the hoof is in order to place the shoe where the break over point is located is extremely important.

Side clips help the nails hold the shoe in place. The clips aid in preventing the shoe from sliding back or twisting. Clips also reduce the torque on the nails.
