Thoro'Bred Front Level Grip Aluminum Racing Plates 
   

The LEVEL GRIP (Outer Rim) is a great performer, excellent for turf and dirt courses. This style was worn by JOHN HENRY most of his career, and features a high outside rim for equal traction and balance. The grip provides 180 degrees of good cupping action.

The WEDGE raises and protects the heel with a solid tapered design. It allows the hoof to roll over faster and reduces tendon and muscle strain. Also useful for horses with low heels caused by concussion, poorly constructed pads, or slow growth. The WEDGE gives immediate and solid support to the heel without causing further deterioration, giving the heel a chance to grow. Available in fronts and hinds. QUEENS WEDGE XT FRONT is a new variation of our popular Queens Plate Design. The heels are raised by 1 5/8 degree, the same as our trademarked Wedge Racing Plates.The raised toe is 2 mm in height. A South American favorite. Available in front only. Sizes: 4 - 5 - 6 - 7.
Thoro'Bred Front Silver Queen XT Aluminum Racing Plates 
   

The new Silver Queen was developed as a moderate approach to the Natural Balance Shoe and the World Racing Plate. It has a beveled toe that allows ease of break over to help reduce the strain on muscles, tendons and joints. The Silver Queen has a thicker cross section that creates a better cupping action. More nail holes so that the farrier can choose and alternate the nail pattern from one shoeing to the next to help preserve the integrity of the hoof. The heels are tapered on the inside to reduce the pressure on one of the most sensitive areas. The Silver Queen is basically a front shoe although it can be used on the hind for horses that forge. If a horse requires icing or therapy after exercise it should raise a red flag to consider break over.

Shoeing all competition horses for top performance requires experienced farriers who under-stand anatomy and conformation, especially in the legs and hooves. Knowing where the center of the hoof is in order to place the shoe where the break over point is located is extremely important.

The QUEENS PLATE XT has a raised toe, only .080 of an inch above the aluminum surface. Not enough to create a positive toe grab, but just enough to increase the traction and wear. Available in front and hind. Sizes: 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8. 5 Nail Hole Pattern in Sizes 5 - 6 -7 - 8.

The ES QUEENS PLATE (European Style) is manufactured at our Thoro'Bred - Australia factory in Kilmore, Victoria, Australia. The is shoe is designed for the more rounded hooves found in Europe, Australia, and other Pacific Rim countries. We import the ES Queens Plate for our domestic customers, but recommend that large orders be directed to Thoro'Bred-Australia. Contact us and we'll give you their address. The INNER RIM is popular for polo ponies, barrel racers and deep sandy tracks. The inside rim allows the horse rapid directional changes, good traction, and stability. Front only. Sizes 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7.

The QUARTER HORSE PLAIN features a high toe for traction in the starting gate. Also for racing in deep or sandy tracks. This shoe is not recommended for long distance racing or hard race track surfaces. Also used on Thoroughbreds as well. Available in front and hind. Sizes 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 in front and hind.

The JAR CALK shoe is for use on extremely wet, muddy or sloppy race tracks. JAR CALKS can add stability and traction for the race horse. These shoes should be removed when track conditions improve. Sizes 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7.
