Henry is one of the best known personalities in the farrier industry. His involvement started in the early 1970's, and he started shoeing full time in 1973. Feeling that farriers needed a publication devoted to their interests and needs, Henry started the American Farriers Journal in 1975, and sold it in 1980.
A Certified Journeyman Farrier since 1983, Henry continues to write and do research concurrent with shoeing. After 6 years of research he published "On The Horse's Foot, Shoes and Shoeing", which is considered the most authoritative and comprehensive bibliography and reference source ever compiled of virtually everything ever written about farrier and hoofcare.
Henry recently published "Sunday On The Farm" by Bruce Daniels. He has also authored dozens of farriery articles which have been published in many of the major farrier journals, such as the American Farriers Journal, ANVIL Magazine, Hoofcare & Lameness, Footnotes, and Infor Marechalerie.
In August of 1996, Henry became one of the founding members of the Guild of Professional Farriers, and currently serves as their President.
