Farrier & Horseshoeing School

Horseshoeing isn't just about putting shoes on horses. Shoeing horses is a skill and an art developed over years of practice, often improved, but never perfected. No one knows this better than Max Williams who has not only achieved the highest level of certification possible under the America Farrier's Association certification program, but also has a Masters Degree in Equine Science with an emphasis on horseshoeing. Combine these professional certifications along with more than 40 years of farrier experience, teaching certification in several states, and practical teaching experience from University level on down, and you will be hard pressed to find any other horseshoeing or farrier school with a more qualified teacher.

Shur Shod's horseshoeing and farrier training program has been developed with the focus and attention to detail required to give beginning horseshoers the foundation of knowledge and skills required to be successful farriers. Our school can also provide experienced farriers with the training required to hone their craftsmanship.

Certified Farrier Education Program

Shur Shod Horseshoeing School's farrier education program has been certified by the Brotherhood of Working Farriers Association as a Master Educator School. This means that students that attend Shur Shod's farrier school not only get the highest quality training, but they also have the opportunity to complete the exams required by the BWFA for certification.
