: I am interested in using equi-pak on a horse that has foundered (mild) but still tends to get foot sore after heavy use in rocky terrain. Is the product available in Idaho? Any special advice for using equi-pak for this problem and terrain? Thanks.
Hi Ken, Thanks for your interest in Equi-Pak. First of all, it is available in Idaho, at Eagle Farrier Supply near Boise ,the ph. # is 208-939-8445 and at The Feed and Farm Store in Coeur d' Alene, 208-772-2715. Equi-Pak would certainly help your horse in this situation. You can either load the material to ground level or just put enough in to cover the frog and sole. To apply Equi-Pak w/o a pad, scrub the sole and frog clean w/ denatured alcohol or acetone and DRY thoroughly. Then dispense the material onto the sole to the desired level. It comes out of the cartridge like syrup. For your rocky terrain, I would suggest putting some plastic gutter guard on when you nail the shoe on for added insurance. If you have ANY questions, call me on my cell phone at 816-305-6984 or the home office at 800-483-8832.
Again, thanks for your interest. Frank
