: I just purchased equi-pak & put it in all 4 of my horses feet with no pad. This stayed for seven days in which there was no rain & it was absolutely wonderful. My horse has never moved better;however, it then rained & before the day was out it came out of every hoof. I used denatured alcohol & cleaned the hoof until immaculate then blow dried each one. This product is wonderful, but I was under the impression that it would stay put in between shoeings even through wet weather. What happened? Help?
Hi Carrie, Good talking to you the other night. As we discussed, I think the problem was that the shoes were not seated out when nailed on. Also, the sulcus of the frog really needs to be dried thoroughly before applying Equi-Pak. With the shoes seated out by the farrier, it will give a nice rim-lock area for the material to get into and to hold. You have my number so call with any questions. Frank.
