: Your ad in The Horse talks about Equi-Pak "protection without the pad", yet I see no directions for applying Equi-Pak this way on your web site. Your directions talk about applying Equi-Pak with a pad.
: Please clarify.
Hi JoAnne, Sorry about that. We have a little bit on it in our FAQ section. To use Equi-Pak w/o a pad, it is helpful to have the shoe "seated out" or beveled a bit when nailed on. This provides a rim-lock area for the material to flow into. Next, you want to scrub the sole out w/ denatured alcohol or acetone and DRY thoroughly. Then simply extrude Equi-Pak onto the sole and frog to your desired level. The material sets in 20-25 sec. If setting the hoof down on a clean floor, I suggest rubbing some dirt or shavings on it first as the Equi-Pak is tacky at this point. Hint: if using the horse in very tough terrain, you might want to nail on some plastic gutter guard (get it at WalMart) to ensure it stays. Thanks for your interest, hope this helps you.
