patty, your answers to my "navicular cyst" questions a while ago were extremely helpful. sorry i did not thank you sooner. my farrier is excellent, but somewhat resistant to certain aspects of edss system. (wedging and frog support).
horse has been doing o.k. but never as good as when gene put edss on him in october 1998. my farrier will be putting edss on him this friday. we tried other more traditional methods for a while but improvement was slow and sometimes horse regressed.
unless the navicular has gotten worse (is that possible considering he's already developed a cyst inside bone) i have my fingers crossed. i just won't give up on him. if no improvement with edss after (?) weeks i will have more xrays taken. also, do you think a bursography is feasible at this point?
the thrush (no smell) and frog deterioration concerns came from local farrier i spoke to (not one who will shoe) but i'm still needing more advice.
