: : What sizes do the new steel NBS come in? Are they going to be the same as the original ones?

: : And are you using these shoes all round or only on fronts? I've never seen anywhere that is says how to shape these shoes to a very distorted hoof. Are you shaping this shoe to mimic the distortions but with slight alterations and then gradually bringing the hoof back to where it should be or do you just round the edges where the shoe fits wide?

: Oh yes, the sizes..they are available at this time in "0" through"3" .I understand there is "00" and "4" in the works.... You will find they are running about a half size smaller than the aluminum...For example I am using a "1" steel where I previously used "0" aluminum. If you have been forging "0" Saint Croix or other staal shoes, with a set-back broadened toe, the "1" Natural balance steel should do nicely. Patty

Actually, I was hoping for a 000 size. It sounds like the 00 will fit the bill when it comes out.

But I am still unclear about what you are using on hinds. Do you concider the NBS to be a universal shape for fronts and hinds or do you simply forge hinds to a similar basic shape out of another brand of shoe?
