I have a mare who has mule type feet...steep walls narrow at the heals real concave inside. the heals are real close behind. The hoofs angles seem fine...the heals grow at just the right angles and there's always enough...her frogs however are extreemly narrow and the clefts are extreemly deep. At the Endurance Ride converence this past weekend Dr. Kerry Ridgeway gave a talk about your method of shoeing...somewhere in the talk he described consquences of underrun heals, long toe etc...and one of them was this narrow frog with the deep cleft that harbor infection...Because my horses narrow frogs are not related to underrun heals. long toes...they are simply "mule feet" , is it something I should be concerned about...Is it something that can be fixed? Her foot is so concave that there is never any frog or sole pressure...how do you make a foot less concave? Are there any NBS shoers in the missoula area??????
