: You don't say what type of glue you are using. To glue on Dalric cuff shoes, Pvc extensions, or aluminum shoes, use Equithane hoof wall restorative. It is a polyurethane adhesive. The hoof wall and outer edge of sole must be prepared carefully, sanded and cleaned with acetone. wear gloves during the process to avoid geting any skin oils on the foot. The inside of the shoe (if PVC or aluminum) should also be carefully cleaned. Dalric cuff shoes have a felt liner so it is not necessary to clean them because the fiber wil help everything stick. Pre heat the shoe a bit with a heat gun or hot hair drier to make the shoe more flexible(temporarily) and to facilitate glue set. Then apply the glue to the inside of the shoe, as much as needed and stick it in place on the foot.Do NOT feather it out on the edges. work fast.When the shoe is in position, heat the foot and shoe with the heat gun but be careful not to burn the foot or leg.Check it with your hand as you go. Do NOT allow the shoe to shift on the foot until the glue is set. It only takes a few minutes with the heat. It will probably be necessary to sedate the foal to help him keep laying down or at least quiet. The misakes I have made in unsuccessfully glueing on shoes have been: allowing the shoe to shift while glue is setting, not putting the glue on thick enough (it sets better if thick), and using the wrong product to clean the foot or not getting it clean enough.
