: I currently use the Natural Balance shoes on my horse and they are great. But I also have been hearing a lot about the Sidewinder shoes for barrel racing. I barrel race on my horse every weekend and was curious as to the difference in the two types of shoes. Any information about the Sidewinder shoes would be great. Thanks

Dear Kym,

The differences are that the Sidewinder has an XT toe (steel toe 1/16" above the shoe surface), it is fullered all the way through the heels and there are notches on the sides to help prevent side slip. They can be used on both front and hind or you can pair them up with the NBS. What it will do if your horse needs them is better your time by one half to a full second.
