: I have used the sidewinder shoes, but thought mine had toe clips on them last year. I dont see any listed with toe clips, and also see they have an option for Legsaver- what is that?
: Thanks!

Dear Sue,

Yes, the Sidewinder has side clips (not toe clips)which the farrier can use to help stabilize the shoe and keep the nails tight. It is usually the farrier's choice to either take advantage of the clips or take them off. Clips can also help horses with tender hooves by not allowing the nails to put additonal pressure against the inner hoof wall.

The Leg Saver pad is available on most of our front shoes as well as the Sidewinder and Bevel Toe Champion which can be used on the front or the hind. It is a Neoprene vulcanized pad (1/8" thick) bonded on the sole side of the shoe. It helps cushion shock and impact and will last the life of the shoe without deteriating. We have been doing this vulcanizing( heat and pressure cure) for over 30 years on our racing plates and now have a growing demand for the Leg Saver pad on all of our aluminum competition shoes as well. It can be used as either a preventative or a help for horses with bad knees, shoulders, backs, soles or other related ailments.
