: Hi Im taking a class in horse shoeing and the teacher had a problem with glue ons in cold weather I have a report to do and picked this subject could you please send information on this. thank you

In cold weather a heat gun is needed to warm everything, the glue, the shoe and the hoof. The heat gun is also needed to cure the glue on the hoof. When the shoe is glued and applied to the hoof , the next step is to wrap the entire shoe and hoof with a Saran type wrap and use the heat gun over the entire area. Be careful not to heat the foot too much, especially near the bulbs of the heel. Place your fingers on the bulbs while using the gun to make sure they are not going to be burned.
