: Has anyone out there been triming there horses with the Dr.Strasser's method of trimming and using the (natural or balanced shoes) and racing using them?If so how has your horses been doing using them racing? My aumish farrier came from England and is using this method but the sho is so different looking it makes me nervious. Please write if you have tried these.Good and bad stories welcomed

Dear Bonnie,

Sorry that I have been so late in answering your question. The aluminum Natural Balance Shoe that we manufacture has been used on race horses with good results, and not just training, but racing. As far as the Strasser method of trim, I do not think that was used. The NBS shoe will help protect the sole and allow more ease of breakover in racing. What you will need to do is to visually check the horses workouts and performance in the shoes, then make your decision, but don't be afraid of using the NBS shoes, they may well be an aid in keeping your horse sound.
