: We have been useing the hind world plate, on the front, to give relief to are bowed horses. However, we would like to get the heels up a little to help the break-over. What do you suggest ? Is there a type of shoe like the WRP but with a little wedge heel?

Dear Terry,

I am guessing that this is a runner, (thoroughbred or quarterhorse we are talking about). Are you familiar with the NBS (Natural Balance Shoe) in aluminum? There are thoroughbreds running in these shoes and doing very well. It has a great breakover area and it is wedged or tapered at the heels too. It is a wide shoe, but has sole relief so that the width is for sole protection and balance. We do make aluminum Wedge shoes in fronts and hinds, but the toe is not set back as far as the WRP hind. Last but not least, you might try our Bevel Toe Champion with the Leg Saver Pad. This will give you the better breakover and the vulcanized pad will provide a cushion for those tendons.
Don't worry about these shoes being to big or wide for a race horse. I can tell you that not too long ago one tied a track record and won a million dollars wearing our Lite Champions.
