Dr. Esco Buff........
The one thing I can say is common is nearly every canker infected foot that I have been part of is that the heels are contracted (a heel to heel width that is well inside the widest part of the toe), even in my draft horses. Only a few case have not.
What has been anyone else's observations?
Foot function; i.e. preservation of the foot, a contracture will be seen whether canker, ringbone sidebone, laminitis and so on and so forth.
Upper leg, above the hairline maladies, will show on one side of the foot or the other.
