Donnie Walker OFFLINE Very Senior Member Posts: 699 Thank you received: 3 Karma: 1	I used them prior to the NB "PLR" being developed. They work quite well but are made of softer aluminum than NB, which makes them easier to shape but not wear as long in rough terrain. The "PLR" is priced lower.

They have seemed to work well for me on a few cases of Caudle Heal syndrome. I'll have to check out the NB PLR shoe, i cant find any info on them. Any leads?

The problem is manufacturers like that can not or will not spend the money to allow large scale manufacturing. So per item production price is sky high. It would be a bit of work to get the NB shoe like this one.

They are nothing like the NB Aluminum shoes.... they are a full wedge shoe, not quite 3 degrees. The couple of horses that I have used them on, I have really like the results, ( both were run forward, crushed heel types). Could you accomplish the same basic effect with a flat, wide web Alum shoe and a degree pad?? Sure..... but these applied alone and then filled with Equipac make a nice, tidy, effective package...They are pricey and therefore have limited use as you have to have a customer who is willing to eat the extra 60 bucks. I keep a few pair in the rig.
