scshoer1 OFFLINE Member Posts: 2 Karma: 0	Can anyone tell me if a propane torch or maybe a MAPP torch would be hot enough to heat nipper handles enough to bend them? I have a propane torch but suspect it wouldn't be hot enough, not sure about MAPP. Don't have acces to oxy/act right now. Thanks.

Mapp is an easily found alternative to propane. It burns much hotter and can also be mixed with oxygen to cut and weld with a torch kit (to a certian degree) Alot of plumbers use it because it solders very quickly. You can find it at most "Lowes" or "Home Depot" near the plumbing or welding supplies. All you need to run it is a "screw on bottle" torch like you would use for propane to solder pipes. You can also get a trigger start torch specificly designed for mapp. (sometimes it comes as a kit) Hope this helps.... :cool:
