Anyone have any experiance with nipper rebuilds done by Lopez???? Thanks, Dave

everything I have heard says they are awsome, sometimes better than the original. I haven't had any done however, just what I have seen others say.

I just sent in 3 sets. Ge's that are just worn out, a set of my dads diamonds, and a set of diamonds that looks like it was used to pull framing nails out of the wall.. i dunno if he can do anything with those, but i figure it'd be worth sending.

So I'll let you know when I get them back. Sent them about a week ago.

Found an old pair in the shop that laid there for years. The stop had been filed down as the blades got ****her apart after sharpening. They were abandoned because when you would get that "snap" through a dry, rock hard hoof, the handles would pinch the palms of your hands and leave blood blisters.
I decided to send them in to Lopez and see if they could do anything with them.
They came back like new nippers. I cant imagine where they found the metal but, they drew those blades back out like new. Cant tell them from my new ones.

Joe Jr. called me to tell me he would have no problem turing a pair of gnarled diamonds into a really nice set of 12 inch nippers. Would be nice to have those in the box too.

UPDATE:

I got my nippers back from Lopez a few weeks ago.

I had 2 sets of diamonds and a set of GE's all 15's re-done. 1 Set of diamonds was damaged to what I thought was beyond repair. Somone had used them to cut framing nails so there were huge holes in the face.

The damaged set were turned into 12 inch nippers. They are sharper and cut nicer than brand new GE 15's. The other set of diamonds that I had reforged also cut nicer or in my opinion slightly better than the brand new GE 15's I had bought while these nippers were out. The GE's I had reforged are about as good as the new GE's. All these nippers were pretty damn dull and one was literally destroyed before I sent them to Lopez. I say he did one heck of a job.
