Well I just got back from the Congress show and it was a fun 2 days. Bought lots of stuff for the farm and seen some really nice horses. Run into a fella that sells Shock Tamers. He give me a set to try out and some paperwork on them and I told him I would give them a try. Only been shoeing a few years so I had never heard of them. Just wondered if some of you have used them. Why did you use them and what were the results and your opinion of them.
They also have a chemical out that is suppose to kill the bacteria in an abcess and he said that you should never never have to resect a foot. Thoughts?
Thanks for your info.
I'm still waiting for the peer reviewed double blind scientific studies to be sent to me from the Shock Tamer pad guy . . . it's been 3 years.
I am not familiar with any method of treating an abcess that requires resecting a foot.

There's a bunch of chemicals that will kill the bacteria in an abcess. Which one of the standard antibacterial chemicals have they repackaged under a new name? Do they have published double blind and peer reviewed studies to back up their claims for this new product? I love the look on peoples faces when they are hawking a product as scientifically proven and you ask to see their scientific evidence. Usually they just hand you a bunch of testimonials from people who tried the product and "Just Loved it!"
Sorry, I consider skepticism a virtue.
