I have a long time client that has imported a Friesian filly to the US about 1 1/2 years ago. She is about two years old, and I have been trimming her since she got here. The owner is taking her filly to curry and asked about shoeing the filly. I have done Tennessee Walkers and there are specific package and shoe weights that are required. Are there restrictions like the gaited breeds? I was woundering if there is a place where I can get the rules of what kind of shoe restrictions I have on shoeing Friesians? Do I need to hand make them?
I have had the pleasure to shoe one adult gelding dressage Friesian. I used Kerckhaert draft shoes with quarter clips and toe clips. The owner met with a man that came here from the Netheralnds and he told her that it is customary to put shoes on for the curry. Any info on shoe selection and the curry process will be greatly appericated. As the owner and I are new to this curry (sp?) thing. Thanks.
