In the latest AFJ, in the new products section, there is a stud welding gun shown. I know what a stud welder is but am not sure of it's application to shoeing. I don't think trying to weld on traction studs, either drive in or screw in, would be practical and I can't picture how it would work to make bar shoes or add toe caulks. Any ideas?

I have looked around a lot and see no reference to it welding horseshoe studs.

The stud welders that I have seen are for welding studs to steel for anchoring into concrete.

I think Image Industries, Inc. found a reference to studs in the AFJ,
and took advantage of the new product section of the mag,
to promote their product.

You can see by the cable you would need a big welder.

Looks similar to stud welder we used in body shop,welded brass/copper pins to sheet metal to pull dents.Could use to pull hot nails,put hangers on side of your rig,be creative.

Yeah the only stud welders I've ever seen were for auto body applications, and not of any use for us. I didn't know that there were stud welders for studs of that size.

I've been wanting a stud welder for years, but alas.... they are all either short, ugly , or married already.
