I found this one emerson anvil that striked my interest quite a bit. It is 100lbs and has turning cams on the heel and has a flat horn. It isnt the tradition style. I was wondering if anyone has one or tryed one and whats there feedback on it. I never expected anvil shopping would be this difficult. I have an Emerson 110 lb with a flat horn. I used it for 18 years until I bought a Scott this year. Emerson has always made agreat product.

I have an Emerson #100 Traditional w/cams and it is an awsome anvil. I don't know how the flat horn would be all i've ever worked on is a round horn. Either way you go you can't go wrong with Emerson.

i've been going through the same dilemma over the last year. Money's tight since i'm just starting out, still learning, raising 2 little kids and living on a coast guard salary. I still want to buy top notch tools (it usually pays in the end anyways).

i just want a really nice round horn, sharp edges, and a flat table. I'm pounding on an old American that my dad gave me that has neither of those. but it is 168 lbs.

i going to go with one of these (soon):
JHM 100 or 125
Emerson 150 (i'm young, tough, and **** so I don't mind dragging it out of the truck)
Emerson 100

Does anybody use an Emmerson 200 anvil

Yes. It is basically the 200 lb Kohlswa pattern. Prices have jumped since I purchased mine. Went up around 400 dollars. Nice anvil, good quality, and the Emersons are nice people to do business with.
