Their sole pack is two part and is meant to be mixed, not used separately. It doesn't really dry, but firms up some. They also have anti-bacterial crystals to mix with it. I wouldn't use the packing without the crystals. I like their hoof pack for my purposes better than most.
I nail Eponas on both my horses and have no issues with the shoes. There is another farrier in my area that is shoeing 3 other endurance horses with Eponas as well (nailed, not glued). He hasn't had any issues either. I've been using them for about 16 months and my horses do 50 mile endurance as well as the conditioning to get them there.
Maybe it's a difference in climate. I'm sure Monique and John would love to hear about your experiences. They're always trying to improve their product.
