More foot in front or behind the center of articulation sounds like physics to me. Which is not what we're talking about here. A NB shoe has more surface area in front of the coa than behind it.
NO, It DOES NOT. Where on earth did you get that idea? Just LOOK at it....
The distance from COA to breakover in a NB shoe is LESS than the distance from COA to the rearmost heel support. IF the shoe is properly placed where it is SUPPOSED to be on the foot.
Your continued staements about NB shoeing and the shoes themselves is revealing that you have some amount of ignorance about Natural balance protocols and shoe design. I suggest you study the protocol in more depth ,ask questions if there is something you don't understand,(rather than make ignorant and false statements) then when you more fully understand it, come back and we can discuss it.

Your jabbering on here. Of course everythings tied together. The back part of the foot moves around quite a bit because it is not attatched to bone.
So science becomes" jabber" just because you dont understand it? You missed the piont..the back part of the foot IS attached to bone ,just in a different manner than directly through the laminae. And because the point was discussing support of the horse and what he actually stands on, it is VERY important.

Cut a NB shoe at the widest part and see for yourself. I agree it is badly shaped.
Here is the outline (green line) of a standard aluminum NB shoe placed overlaid on the drawing of a european contest front hunter shoe . Where exactly is the NB shoe badly shaped?

I also measured a size 1 aluminum, NB shoe, and from the widest part to the toe EDGE it is 2 5/8", from the same line back to the heels it was also 2 5/8Exactly 50-50. Then figure in the rolled toe and you get less ground surface in front.
To be Set around Ducketts bridge, roughly the COA. What problem do you have with that ?

It is basic good shoeing.

AS for the various world wide studies concerning the various stresses in the footand the relationship to breakover placement , there are so many and I have cited them many times here over they years and will not do it again.
Go find them yourself, Mr Todd anonymous. They are here somewhere.

If Patty is all about the nbs stuff, good for her. That is probably what works best for her skill level. I have found what works best for me at my skill level.
My skill level is very, very high as is the skill level of the many certified JOURNEYMEN farriers who also employ natural balance principles on a regular basis. I do what I feel is BEST for the horse.

My clients and the vets I work with are the real life judge of my skill level.
I find it disgusting that some of you, when confronted with scentific discussion , resort to personal attacks instead of sticking to the sibject at hand, specifically the biomechanics of toe clips as they pertain to shoe design.
Classy move.

You are correct. If you're gonna discuss stuff with Patty, you need to back it up. Just "sayin' so" doesn't cut the mustard. She provides information, diagrams and facts. (Not saying they're right or wrong.) You want to dispute her stuff, come up with other facts. Irrelevant gibberish like, "You can't judge your work, or your mother..." has no place on the forums. I love a good debate, people, but you gotta bring real info and facts to a debate. No one says you have to agree.

Patty , I am one of those CJF's that employ NB, principles, But I toe-clip at least 7 to 10 horses on my book. Am i doing them wrong?

Patty , Is your skill level the same, as that of a CJF? Could it be that you are just doing the best that you are able to do with the limited-knowledge that you have?

All your questions were asked in a nice, civil manner, without insulting anyone's heritage. I like that. I'm sure Patty will answer them in the same civil and well thought out manner. See? Civility breeds civility.

What does that have to do with the topic at hand??

Given the new rules around here lately, a simple PM, or a start of a new thread would have been in order. Just bustin yo chops.
