MCHA Shoe List:
Division 1:
Class 1: AFA modifications. Time Limit: 60 minutes.
Class 2: plain stamped front, punched for 6 nails competitor to turn in nail.
plain stamped hind, punched for 6 nails competitors choice. Time Limit: 60 min.
Class 3: AFA modifications
Eagle Eye: shaped using keg shoe, shoes will be a Kerkhaert 1 standard.
Live Shoeing Shoe fronts according to current AFA certification handbook.
Time Limit: 60 minutes
The AFA modifications will be chosen the day of the competition, as well as the time limit for class 1 and 3 for Division 1.
Division 2:
Class 1: Front plain stamped with toe clip. Time Limit: 60 min.
Shoe 1: out of 11.5” of 5/16 x ¾, punched for 6 nails using Liberty E4 slim.
Shoe 2: out of 14” of ½ x 1, punched for 6 nails using Liberty E6.
Class 2: Hind plain stamped shoe. Time Limit: 60 min.
Shoe 1: out of 11” of 5/16 x ¾ with quarter clips, punched for 6 nails, Liberty E4 slim.
Shoe 2: out of 14” of ½ x 1” with a toe clip, Punched for 6 nails, Liberty E6.
Class 3: Bar shoe class made according to AFA standards and time limit
Eagle Eye: Plain stamped shoe with 6 nails, competitor choice of nail appropriate to stock size
Live Shoeing: 1 hind foot shod plain stamped with quarter clips. Specimen shoe straight bar shoe made according to AFA standards. Nail size appropriate to stock size. Time Limit: 60 min.
Division 3:
Class 1: Roadster out of ½ by 1” ¾ creased with a bob punched toe clip 6 nails punched for E7
Opposite Front shoe using 12” of 3/8 x ¾ creased with toe clip punched for E5 liberty. Time Limit: 60 min.
Class 2: French hind shoe: 11” of 5/16 x 1 having 5 nails punched for 5 city slim.
Front Preventer shoe: 10” of 3/8 x 1 with a creased lateral branch and plain stamped medial punched for E4 slim, toe clipped. Hammer finish. Time Limit: 60 min.
Class 3: French Bar Shoe 17” of 3/8 x 1. ¾ fullered with a masselote toe clip punched for E6 Liberty E5 slim
Eagle Eye: Front Creased Shoe, 12” of 3/8 x ¾ with 6 nails of competitor choice for the appropriate stock.
Live Shoeing: 1 hind foot shod plain stamped with quarter clips. Specimen shoe: Roadster out of ½ by 1” ¾ creased with a bob punched toe clip 6 nails punched for E7. Time Limit: 60 min.
2 man Draft: There can only be one division 3 competitor per team.
All competitors are encouraged to bring a handmade auction item. There will be a dinner and auction following Fridays clinic and contest. There will be a half day clinic on Friday and the competition will begin after lunch on Friday. Competitors will have to qualify to compete in the live shoeing. COKE FORGES WILL BE ALLOWED! 100% PAYBACK!! FLATLAND FORGE TROPHY HAMMERS!!!
All Division 1 keg shoes will use Kerkhaert 1 standards.
