LOL! If I thought you guys would wear them I'd probably include helmets at the door. Would come in handy later in the evening when you guys started breaking beer bottles over each others' heads after the subject of the farrier associations comes up.

It's easy for me given where I'm currently at on the farrier learning curve. Can't help but be learning at this point...and I always have a good time.

Personally, I would enjoy the Round Table type activity where we can bounce ideas off each other..not interested in a contest event at all..when I build shoes I nail them on for money, my elbow isnt there anymore to pound away to make a pretty shoe that doesnt actually nail up..The WCB and AFA can have all they want..I want to get into other Farriers heads as to how they deal with high/low, clubs, interference, etc anything related to helping improve a horses way of going or such..no helmets either so we can soak up each others experiences..:D:cool: I like again what you came off the top of your helmetless head, Farrier Fest, BUT its Your Party !:D:D

You know, that feels like really good advice to me Gary. I don't want to compete (no pun intended) against the WCB and others. I respect those guys a lot (what I see them make is so impressive, given the time they take to do it, h*ll even not taking into account the time) but really we are about learning and helping the horse here, not winning (unless you put me behind a steering wheel, then I must pass you). I want to find my own niche to contribute to the industry, my mission is to always help move the industry forward. I should focus on having a skilled clinician (or several eventually) come in and teach and give you guys a chance to come together and meet and share your own lessons learned. And of course socialize in an informal setting. Don't want to reinvent or take away from the WCB or the Summit or anything else. Just bring something positive to the industry. Thanks for the post.

The Thinking that Baron introduced and you now have the reins of is why so many of us come here daily...coffee shop talk with other Farriers sometimes is limited to ,"how many horses did you do today?" mentality...:cool:

Bet I could fill my jeep and bring some canucks... You wanna see a happy bunch of beer sluggers; although we'd have to bring our own, yours kinda tastes like beer favoured fountain pop...

Can I act as a sponsored ambassador and get myself an all expenses paid trip?

I've set those dates with Chris, the only unknown is where to hold it if too big for our farm. Talking to big vet clinics. It should all work out fine.

Maybe you can get someone to video it and sell later on. We have our contest in Indiana that weekend along with being in a ranch horse competition and Ranch rodeo at our horse fair, be a busy weekend.

(unless you put me behind a steering wheel, then I must pass you)

Talking to an oil field Texan up here. He said he really missed Texas -" nicest people in the world". He then paused and added "until you let em drive an automobile".

My wife drives an F250, my small truck is an F350. I have to have a Class A DL for my big truck. What can I say, we need trucks in the horse business. Not a problem as long as you stay out of our way.
