Hello folks! I am a new member of this forum (not sure how I missed it before!) and I am VERY excited to have access to such a wealth of information! As a disclaimer, this could be in a completely inappropriate section of the forum; if so, I apologize in advance!
I am a lifelong horse person. I have extensive experience handling difficult and high strung sport horses. I am bi-lingual; fully functional in English and French.
I'm located in Nova Scotia, Canada, and have been trimming/maintaining my own horses feet between professional shoeings, have pulled and reset thrown shoes when necessary. I am in a position at the moment where I am able to take the next 10 months (+/-) to earnestly pursue higher education. I am fit, healthy, and keen to learn. I have excellent work ethic and am very organized. I would love the opportunity to tag along and learn from someone. I have experience managing finances and simple book keeping; my post secondary education is in marketing and design, including web architecture (translated: I can make catalogues, business cards, vinyls for vehicles, receipt/invoice books, websites... you name it, if it has to do with marketing, I can make it!).
If the right opportunity presented itself, I would be willing and able to go abroad for a short (6-8 week) time, if provided with room/board. If local to me (within an hour of the Annapolis Valley) I would be fiercely loyal, and very cheap labour. I have reliable wheels of my own. I would be interested in working for/with my mentor in the future, and willing to offer my non-horse related services free of charge (or in exchange).
I am also open to distance mentoring or other "alternative" ways of learning...
Thanks for providing me the opportunity to reach out, and to learn from what appears to be some of the best and brightest!
