How about everyone getting together for a late dinner at 9pm, January 31, meeting in the lobby of the Millenium? I'll be there, and look forward to meeting you. The rumor is that Rick and Frank are arguing over who will treat.

Baron,

You haven't heard the news yet? In a rare concillatory moment, we agreed that it would be you. :p

Baron, could we make it a bit later? There are some roundtable discussions that will be going on until 9:15 pm.

I'm traveling with a few others (3 I think) so I'm not sure I can predict where I'll be but I'll keep it in mind...well unless Rick is buying and then I'll find a way to be there. LOL

That's quite kind of you, but really, I wouldn't dream of snatching from you the warm, altruistic feeling you obviously obtain from helping others.....

I overlooked that detail. OK, since we're gonna be eatting late anyway, lets make it 9:25. No conflict that way.

The last warm fuzzy feeling I had was when I trapped, butchered and then created a hausenfeffer stew for dinner. And that was during an advanced survival training course courtesy of our dear Uncle Sam , some 30+ years ago.

I know that most of you are on your way or are at the Summit today. Yesterday, I recieved my copies of the Online Conference. I was unable to listen to it live due to a crazy weekend. The audio wasn't the best but it might have been due to the speakers not holding down the key to talk the whole time or maybe Craigs computer just sucked? On the debate between Gene and Craig, who do you think won or did the best presentation? I was very impressed as usual with Gene and could tell he studies what he talks about. I don't know if Craig was as prepared as he wanted to be because he kind of lost me a few times talking about legless kids in Somalia and a few other topic's that to me didn't come close to shoeing horses one way or the other? In my opinion from what I could understand , Gene blew him out of the water! I really wish I was able to be in Cincy right now but with the mild weather we have my book runth over and I just can't get away. I would like to hear more from Craig , maybe he makes more sence in person? Anyone else want to comment on the debate part? I haven't listened to the rest of the DVD's as I went right for the debate one first. As usual Baron did his BEST to provide a great avenue of education for us! Thanks again Baron! Gary

WOW!

Just got back to Boston from Cincinnati and couldn't wait to write!

Thanks Guys for a great time! What a blast it was to meet all of you. Sure had a lot of fun above all the information I learned. I was still laughing to myself about "Muskrat Studs" while sitting on the flight back to Boston.

However, I came away with one burning question...

Mr. Burten,

When are you going to get an Avatar that resembles you?

When did I become Mr. Burten?

And, that picture is now about seven years old, so you just have to squint a bit harder to see the updated real me :D

That said, how about this Dianne, I'll find and post a new avatar as soon as you post an avatar of the tattoo you told us about but did not show us.

Yes, that's right folks, in addition to being a cover girl for Easy Walker, our own Dianne is a rather well inked young lady. And though she tantalized us(the ones at the Summit) with descriptions, she was too modest to display her art work(something about getting her husband's approval first).

Well there Mr. Burten,

Ok enough said, your avatar should include your display of "ink" as well. As well as being modest I am only "moderately" inked.

Perhaps we should start a thread of Farrier tattoos?

I did also quite enjoy our shoeing conversations as well as the polite banter. Are you through your "Week's supply"?

I'll second that WOW! What a great week.

Highlights for me were:

* Gene Ovenick lecture
* KC Lapierre lecture
* Dr. Clayton lecture
* The Guild meeting
* Meeting some of the gang from horseshoes.com - I did not get a chance to talk to everyone I wanted to from the boards.

I was somewhat smitten by the wit and charm of this one farrier babe . . . she has a modeling gig on the side. Maybe next year I'll get her autograph.

Next year I'm staying in a different hotel. The Hilton put me in a utility closet that was remodeled to look like a hotel room. No kidding folks, the stalls in my barn are bigger than that room :)

When you became the moderator in that roundtable discussion. It was like flipping a switch. Suddenly Rick was gone and Mr. Burten appeared. Dude, you know how to work a room. I was very impressed. You kept the discussion focused on-topic. Some of the others I attended got side tracked or lost momentum. So, Mr. Burten, you can go back to being Rick until next year.

I agree with Tom.

You became Mr. Burten out of the respect I gained for you, your knowledge and professionalism.

Niether Revilinski or Lundist was in attendance. Neither was registered. All blow no show.
