go to school. if then this is not something you wanna do, that was just some money spent. you´ll get over it. there are not many farriers that i know of, who are willing to take a guy who hasn´t shod at all.
of course you can propably call someone and ask him if it would be ok to just come and watch him work, but however you put it, you´re slowing him down...
school would be my #1 choice. or go to some weekend class. there you´d be able to atleast try to trim some cadavers.
what ever you decide, welcome to the world of farriery. this is a complex trade, and day after day, you´ll realize that you know less than yesterday...
