Hey, I know you. You were there and saw me one day at Kirkwood Farrier Supply. See me, I know a fellow looking for help.;)

Hay,
If you came up here and under cut me enough,

I'd just put you to work. :D

Thats what I'm talking about.
The fellow that helps me did 8 fronts and a full today while I was in another barn a 100 miles away.

So Jeff, did you do the billing for those horses?

Do you have a corporation, LLC, or ?

Is the fellow a employee, sub-contractor, or ?

How's your liability insurance? How's the fellows liability insurance?

How do you handle a sticky situation had someone been hurt?

Sorry for all the questions... just curious how other people handle this situation.

if you work hard for 3/4 years get the right teaching
it wont matter whoes in your area

they will have to worry about you

Good advice.

Brad, post some pictures of your work. I can't tell you how much that opened my eyes and improved my work. Some guys don't think it matters how good the job looks, it does. If you really want to do this you will hang in there. Can always get a part time job flipping burgers, pumping gas or whatever to get by as you build your business.

its all fairly simple except the insurance. I run a sole proprietorship, use him as a sub, I do the billing.

Havent had to handle an injury to a person yet.

Situations depend on what kinds of barns/clients as to how to run this. What works in someplaces wont work in others.

I pay a percentage and it varies dependant upon the work and location.

It is a great start. This sounds like a great opportunity to learn from a veteran who has the time to teach what he knows.
