Thanks,
I don't know when the next session is scheduled, but it is usually on a weekend. I'll email you when the equine group schedules the next course.

Tom,i don't have to cover Jeffs back,he is a regestered guild
member that passed his test.

Damn, I'll bet he's going to be disappointed to learn you don't have his back.

Have you passed the guild test yet?

Alas, I've failed to take the Guild's test and have no interest in doing so; however, I did somehow manage to muddle through a couple of others. How about your bravely anonymous self: Have you passed the Guild's test? BWFA's? AFA's? JHU's? Illinois'? Anybody's? :)

I KNEW I was going to miss fun. I already had a wedding on the schedule with the Clydesdales, or I would have been there too!

Good job gang !

Tom, Rick or whomever, could you tell me where the term, "wet lab" came from? I'm not familiar with it, just curious.
Thanks, John

John Emsley in gray, stuff deleted

Thanks Travis, I felt like I was on the "ignore". Could understand the concept, just wondered the origin.

Travis' definition is spot-on. The usual definition of "wet lab" has to do with the presence of chemicals, testing equipment, and similar stuff. When it comes to horses, I haven't the faintest idea where to draw the line between wet and dry labs, but I figure if you can get blood on your apron - and it doesn't have to be oxygenated blood - you've been to a wet lab. :)

Tom,i used to belong to the CSFA. And i was really into it.Then i had a kid,and from that day on i had to make a living, and didn't have time for
organizations. The only test i have ever taken was for standardbred shoeing,
and i almost flunked.I don't know if i could pass afa's test or the guilds, but i bet i could. And if i couldn't pass the test,it wouldn't make any difference because i am getting close to the end of my time~

In biology, genetics or biochemistry, the terms wetlab or wet laboratory distinguish classical experiments handling biological material from in silico[as opposed to in vitro] work (computer analysis).

Hey Tom,
Thanks very much for helping out at Texas A&M last weekend. This was the AAEP vet farrier shortcourse and I was the farrier presenter. It was a great day as it seemed that all of the students got a lot out of the wetlab, thanks to the fabulous help of you 5 farriers. The program was thrown together rather last minute and Jason did a great job rounding y'all up. I'm sorry you didn't get the opportunity to sit through Dr. O'Grady's Anatomy/Physiology presentation. It is worthwhile viewing.

I have presented this seminar all over the country over the last 9 years and I must say that each one has been well received by the students. A major factor in this success has been the willingness of local farriers to donate their time to come and help out with the hands on portion. This program is not only designed to teach the students the basics of hoofcare and shoe removal, but just as importantly it becomes a bridge for the 2 professions to meet on. It is our opportunity as farriers to coach them on methods of communication and interaction that do not lead to confrontation.

Thanks again to you, Jason Maki, Dave Demeree, and the others who helped out. If you need anything from South Carolina you look me up.
Sincerely,
Steve Prescott, CJF
