Mitch has been Director of the Kentucky Horseshoeing School since 1989. Known for his clinics on equine anatomy & physiology as it pertains to horseshoeing, Mitch has given clinics worldwide in the field or equine limb anatomy & biomechanics. His anatomy & dissection clinics at the American Farriers Association Convention are always overflowing in attendance. Mitch is past Chairman of the AFA Continuing Education Committee & has served on the AFA Board of Directors as well as being a past president of the Registry of Professional Farrier Educators. Mitch has also been chosen to be a part of the panel presenting technical seminars as a part of the KTOB/Keene land International Emerging Markets program. He’s recognized throughout the farrier& veterinarian industry as a top clinician & educator while staying actively involved in all aspects of the profession. A noted author, Mitch publishes frequently in Professional Farrier & served as the primary author of AFA’s Education Manual. He has published extensively in numerous other farrier publications including the American Farrier's Journal. Mitch earned a BS in Biology & Chemistry from Colorado’s Western State College before pursuing graduate studies in Animal Science at the University of Kentucky. While at UK, Mitch worked as an assistant to James Rooney, PhD, a noted author & authority on equine anatomy & biomechanics. Mitch is THE MAN when it comes to dissection of the equine limb.
