I don't know about everybody else but one of my favorite parts of this forum is seeing the interesting cases everybody else works on.

A lot of times folks will come back and update a thread where they mentioned a particular case but sometimes they are just left hanging so, I was wondering if we could maybe have a section for case studies where people could make a thread about a particular horse that they are working on.

I think it would be nice to have a thread similar to the everyday corrective and problems thread but specific to one horse. I also think there could be a lot of learning potential to those type of threads.

awesome idea, I actually have something kinda neat going on with my casting efforts to reinforce flared heels.

I will have to post a picture of the one hoof that is showing an interesting effect.

The other hoof has equicast and is still holding strong. Well the bottom 1/3 that is the old wall that was flared and dressed back but not reinforced is obvious but above that there is a clear line of tight growth followed by a small ripple(I theorized coincides with the week uncasted) and there are about three of these layers in succession.

I will photograph it today as I finally have both the time an energy.

I am sure there are other reasons this could be showing, perhaps when the containment is reduced blood flow changes, or the lamina experience temporary inflamation... or something but to me it is exciting to see there has been a distinct change of some sort.

Thomas Edison (inventor of the modern light bulb) experiences similar emotions as he tried over and over to find the correct filament for the bulb.

Some of the simplest experiments bring the largest of realizations...

Keep it up, your on a great learning curve...

I can't help thinking that there's more than enough topics for any forum.

There's plenty of case studies showing what happened over time on the forum already and contained within the specific subject matter areas.

I personally have no difficulty finding them by doing a search within the subject matter topic areas.

I'm thinking if there's just one area then you could spend some time trying to find the one you're looking for and don't see the benefit at all.

I'd have said that it's up to the person who's posting and managing the case to decide if they want to take it right through to conclusion and if they don't now then why would they bother to do it if it was in a specific thread!?

Furthermore many of the pros have blogs or web sites containing case studies and folks can go there if they wish or else they could send the OP a PM or resurrect the thread for further information if that's what they want.

i have to second David's thoughts. i would love to see a thread related to one specific horse and over time. and then be able to have them explain what they've run into along the way or didn't. what they changed and why . . . Oh, that would be Great!
