Maybe your right. But he did say between 190 and 225. And dont worry, I didnt really believe water would just sit there and boil like I said I's just sayin!:D

Matt, that's why I said I'd get some numbers. The 225 degrees was from someone else up in Phoenix and it was said to be 120 degrees that day. I haven't experienced 120, just 112*. It just sucks the life right out of ya. Just imagine grabbing a shoe or your tools after they set out in the sun for a few minutes, you can get branded. Kim had a gal lead a horse in from a turn out of sand one day (my customer) and she reached down to pick the foot up and burned her hand somewhat after the horse had walked thirty yards on wet down dirt in a shaded aisle way. Got a good laugh out of that one. I couldn't take your guys humidity, at 65% I sweat barrels, at 8% I just sweat buckets.

hotrodiesel in gray, stuff deleted

Another thing that might be of help with my experience in this type climate is, my brother is a farrier in the Albuquerque area. When I go back home to visit I ride with him. The guy can trim a foot. And he likes em short. I have said several times, that we couldnt get away with that short a foot here. Those dry hard feet can take more than you think!

For horses' hooves, dry and hard is the default state in evolutionary terms. There's a helluva difference in the hooves from the humid, neotropical Texas Gulf around Houston and those from semi-arid country west of San Antonio, where it rains maybe 20 inches a year.

Here in Texas, more than one horseshoer has discovered that you can't trim horses off the Gulf as short as those from West Texas without getting into trouble. :)

Wow Kim, are you challening St Patricia now?" I'm not sure where to start to respond to your post. But what the heck.

For the record, Over the decades I have been "under the knife" 8 times and 2 of my homies are Orthos so we talk alot about comparitive anatomy.
You are very wrong about how cadavers are prepared and about how old these cadavers when used by resident Orthos specifically when measuring structures by the mm. So, you really DID pull a Bowker on us here.
Here's a tip from an old guy, if you want to play with your micrometer please get a fresh hoof off the horse(within an hour). I won't get into the changes you can see in a hoof depending on which drugs were used in the last hours of life. That's for a different day.

"Your obtuseness is duly noted. Lets hope that IF and WHEN you need surgery that you don't expect the same of your doctor's anatomy classes. Do you really think the students are learning on fresh cadavers or.... Super DUH, are they working on donated bodies that have been stored.

As for me applying Bowker logic, well I take offense sir. I am not publishing scientific papers, nor influencing hoards of true believers. Just trying to have a discussion with "thoughtful" people (snort).[/quote]

Side note: Your idea for discussion is good your prop is not; just rotten meat.

the average temperature at home for the last 2 weeks has been 38c , its normally at least 5c higher just north of us and 5c lower south of us ,no rain for 90 days ,none expected until late november , should get hotter for the next 2 months . average night time temp around about 10c less .

Does the heat in the ground effect the plastic horseshoes?

bahahahahahhahaa That was covered in another thread but you when presented with actual facts you turned tail and ran.

Big Lightbulb moment here... Little Sensei, you aren't throwing hate my way as I thought, actually you truly are like the little 3rd grader. You LOVE ME, you want to KISS ME, you want to HUG ME. But since you are a widdle boy you can only express that by tugging on my pigtails.

It's okay Gary, I understand, yet I would never date a farrier, or a truck driver either and especially not a circus trainer :)

So back on topic eh?

I temp'd the ground yesterday in the sun it was 130ish degrees, but it was only 95 yesterday. Ground temp in the shade was 100 degrees. 2 horses we temp'd black hooves were 102 and white hooves 101.

I'll temp the Epona shod horse today ;)

I dont sweat, I rain. I took a shower and cooled off about 7:30 and then had to go back outside and pull the AC out of the window and wash it out. Took me about 30 minutes. I had to take another shower and change clothes again because I was soaking wet. I need one of those laser things so I can get some numbers too.

Is that the place that was sung about in the CW song "Baby don't cook the lobster 'cause I'm coming home with the crabs"? :)
