SANTA CLARA COUNTY TO CONSIDER A BAN OF CIRCUSES AND RODEOS.
On February 12, 2008 starting at 9:30 AM, the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors will hold an advisory hearing considering a ban of rodeos and circuses that use animals in the entire county. A second and final meeting will be held around the end of March.
Your attendance is important for the opposition of this ordinance as the number of people will influence the outcome.
It is very important to call/fax/email/write to each and all the Supervisors in opposition to the ban at the addresses below before February 12, 2008. Please be courteous and brief in your letters and calls.

Please do not to ban circuses and rodeos in Santa Clara County. The animal rights activists behind this ban do not speak for the majority of the American public.
We wish to preserve our right to enjoy the tradition of animals in entertainment. There are laws and ordinances in place to protect animals and as long as the animals are well cared for there is no reason for a ban on circus and rodeo. Please vote no.

Thats up in the South bay section of the "Bay Area", or California's version of Austin TX, Chicigo Ill, or what ever liberal bastian you wish to compare it to. I don't even know if they have had a rodeo there lately. Santa Clara County should not be confused with San Mateo County which is home to the Cow Palace Arena and the Menlo Circus Club.

Santa Clara is though Home of the Horse Crazy towns of Gilroy, Los Altos, San Martine, Morgan Hill, etc etc. So a vote broaching any kind of animal restriction should be an interesting one.

There are just as many kooks in Santa Clara County that own horse and don't like to be told what they can and can't do with them Gary so that is why it's going to be interesting.

Such is the political nature of the state, strange things happen out here.

No, Humane slaughter is being fought as well...we should just turn them all loose, create a pen enclosure around Oklahoma to keep the people(is that legal, no body wants a wall on the Rio Grande!?) out and let them be natural. We can use Kansas for the cows, Iowa for the pigs..of course some body already did this in California: All the squirells moved there!
I had a Poli-Sci proff in college who said this country was really founded on four things-tobbaco, alcohol, firearms and Jesus--all four are know persona non grata. Pretty soon we will have a "life fit for pigs" as described in Platos' republic.

Very very true. As I watched the rep. debate, I felt Thomson was the only real conservative up there:(. A client told me she was going to vote for Hilary in the primary because she'll be easier to beat in the end by a rep. than Obama would be. Pretty slick!

Somehow Fred was ignored and glossed over...He was the only "presidential" presidential canidate with a solid consevative base... probobly why the newsies ignored him. I have been a registered voting republican my entire adult life, and a republican before I could vote...I am not voting in this election...I do not have a canidate I can stomach. I am thinking about having a sticker made for my truck "Bush 08".
