Any chance Mr Stovall can get TexMexShoeGirl to show up? She likes contests.

Also I may have to tell his illegal aliens about Cesar Chavez. He was a man they could be proud of :D

Phil, if I read Mr Stovalls invite correctly, the second weekend was the one they set? You had problems at first with it because of your wifes previous commitment?

This is Tom's last comment on the dates.

I'm the official at a fairly big dressage deal on Nov 1-4. The GREAT AMERICAN/USDF REGION 9 CHAMPIONSHIPS; Southwest Dressage Championships; HDS Autumn Classic is that weekend, so The Match! will have to be the next weekend. I had Ledbetter in mind as a venue, but since it looks like this thing has created a bit of spectator interest, we can have it at the shop in Katy on the second weekend of November if it's okay with Cam. (I have Cam in mind to judge anyway, but I haven't said anything to him yet.)

I assume the date is not firm until he talks to Cam?

Rick Burten is also asking.

Here is the copy of the note.

Can I come as Phil's Manager? I'll wear a purple top hat and purple sequined suit, purple feather boa and carry a purple cane with lots of bling - Think George Clinton of Parlament Funkadelic. Oh and matching sunglasses with bling of course.

You'll have to ask Phil about being his manager, but your choice of wardrobe should count for something.

I talked to Cam today and he said the second week in November was fine with him, although we may need to change the venue from the shop to someplace with parking and bathrooms if this thing keeps mushrooming.

This thing is fast becoming an happening - whoda thunk it?

If we need more space lets move it to the Texas contest site. We could have "The Match" the day of the clinic or the day of the live shoeing. Two horses probably aren't going to be hard to come up with this early in the deal.

And to make it more appealing to the contest folks to have us there for "The Match" the loser could donate $500 to the injured farrier fund for either the TPFA,AFA, or the F&HCRC (farrier&hoof care resource center).

Should be no shortage of folks there qualified to judge and we could compete in the contest and "The Match".

Sounds like a plan if it's okay with all concerned.

And to make it more appealing to the contest folks to have us there for "The Match" the loser could donate $500 to the injured farrier fund for either the TPFA,AFA, or the F&HCRC (farrier&hoof care resource center).

Match for $100 and loser makes a $500 donation to the injured farrier fund? What's not to like?

Should be no shortage of folks there qualified to judge and we could compete in the contest and "The Match".

Wherever it takes place, I'm asking Cam LaPée to judge - I can't think of anyone better.

I'm game what ever the venue. It's the same dates and we would have a larger crowd. :)

Not to mention it would help out another Farrier.

George
can you and phil wear matching outfits?

I just looked at the www.tpfa.org site and saw the Div.1 shoe list.

It looks like our match shoes.

What do you think phil want to come to Texas and have a shoeing match and then do the Texas contest?

loser of the match donates $500 to an injured farrier fund and the winner gets the $100 for the match. I think it would be a noble cause don't you?

Cam can judge the match, you can bring your own judge in, and I'll pick one from the contestants that way there will still be a three judge panel for our "Match".
