I have a top ten list of horses in my head that I'd love to see go to the killers. I would even like to load them up, drive the truck, put them down, grind them up into sausage and grill them, eat them, and then dispose of the digested night"mares" in the appropriate bowl. Does that make me a bad person?

I don't care to see good, useful horses go to slaughter. OTOH I don't care to see unwanted horses suffer or an innocent family wiped out because of a horse that was turned loose and wandered onto the highway. I guess I still don't quite understand your position. Are you against slaughter but see a need? The bill passed into law was for slaughter not against.Not going to get into p issin match over for or against. I see a need for slaughter, just the same as a need for young men/women that we ask to fight,kill, and die for our country. Those that are against slaughter are entitled to their opinion and I don't condemn them for that.

We need a humane way of slaughter of horses in this country.

When horse is sick, injured beyond help, or very bad horses that can not be retrained. Example: old teaser stallions, proud cut geldings, very mean marish mares that no drugs will keep her from kicking out at everyone, ect.

We need to control all of the "out of control" back yard breeding that is going on in this country with horses. Also, the horse dealers in this country who prey on unsuspecting buyers. This is not a "buyer beware" type of business!!! This can become a "life or death" deal. Especially, when "CHILDREN" are involved!!!!!!!!!!!!

We need to have a "family-type" horse auctions that give second chance horses to new homes, and the old owners know that they will go to horse family.
Separate the horse auctions.
Have killer auctions for those horses that have to put down humanely for their meat.

Where it stands now; horses are traveling more to go to Mexico or Canada, in worse situation; than before.

More needs to be done.

We had a half way decent system, until the "Bunny Huggers" got upset that people actually eat horsemeat. That was the whole reason the plants got closed. I pass the old plant in Kaufman, Tx every Wed. They also caught He ll from the city because of the sewer system was very old. The plant had been there for a long time, the new Mayor just happened to live on the property next to it and used her powers to help close it down.
