You know one of the first "American Values" established by the founding fathers was a tax system (ex. Stamp Act) to support the continental army and to get this dog and pony show up and running.

Their complaint was "taxation without representation" and now we got both. No making some people happy.

If you think you could do a better job than what's currently being done please get involved by running for office or interacting with your elected representatives. Whinning on the web or at the coffee shop doesn't effect change and appears childish.

My limited experience in govt. only involves Township matters and that's enough to make my head spin.

The govt./tax waste stories are news because they are mostly the exception not the rule and gets the wackos' panties in a bunch. If it was the rule it wouldn't be news (like reporting that "the sun will rise tomorrow")

My tax $ helps support the greatest nation in the world. No better value on earth; waste included.

Not me. I prefer Sirius

Well lets see, first was brother counting votes in Florida then supreme court installed. Next time around was by questionable voting machine fraud in Ohio.

Right on that one;) No election ever made any difference in my life I sure won't let it interfere with something as important as hunting:)

Good choice of weapon! Next time perhaps try some expanding bullets so you won't need so many shots;) Any pics of the deer?

Maybe we define waste differently. As you say, there is the waste that is "news" but then there's the waste that isn't...the money is just gone. Then, there are the other things that taxes pay for that I don't believe in and don't want to pay for.

My tax $ helps support the greatest nation in the world. No better value on earth; waste included.

Well, it would be an even better value at half the price. But hey, I think it's great that you're so willing to pay and don't care what you're paying for. Maybe we can get them to take more from you and less from me.

Mr.Josh /Slow Shoe:

This is in reply to what you have posted concerning my post # 34. And if I have upset and angered you...? if so,you have my apologies!!!, did not mean to anger anyone. My remarks were prompted by your post in reference to Brian Robertson (See the fallowing )

John (though I may be ignored)
I assure you that local, state or federal government waste and over abundant spending is by far the the norm if not the rule.

Again another post I dont understand. Why would I put you on my ignore list over our one interaction and of all places it was here in the political forum. If your going to take everything so personal, dont participate in the political discussion. You should know that it stays in this forum and shouldn't leek out into other board discussions.

I may be 27, I'd however disagree that I am a "snot nosed 27". Even though it was cold today and I might have a had a bit of a nasal drip, I dont think that warrants an insult no matter what state I may reside in.

EDIT: I just went back and fully read what you have written and I think we have had a bit miscommunication. If the fault is mine I do apologize. I see your new here and it seems like a lot of the newer people who come to the forums seem to take things for a bit more than what they were intended. I dont think an insult was in order for stating my opinions. Hopefully our future interactions will be a bit more fruitful. :)
