- A castrated male horse of any age.

- A collective term for all of a given horse's offspring.
- GRANDFATHER CLAUSE
- A B.W.F.A. membership policy which allowed horseshoers to join as
CJF I, CJF II, and CMF members without taking examinations, based
upon prior experience.
- GIRTH
- Distance around body behind elbows and over withers; may be used
as a reasonably accurate estimate of weight.
- GRAVEL

- GROOVING
- Cutting or burning a horizontal groove across the fibers of the
hoof horn to alter the way in which stresses are transferred up the
wall. This may be done when treating founder, flares, basal cracks,
and other hoof maladies.

- A farrier organization which issues professional credentials and
