Jared, this is a picture of another guy's rig that is a similar set up to yours. I think these trailers are set up by someone in Oklahoma. But I thought it might give you a few ideas, I like the way they incorporated an anvil swing out and grinder swing out on this one too and this shows what many had been suggesting about mounting the forge on the door. Thats a good looking rig. I like the swing out, I dont like carrying my anvil any more than I have to.

Im thinking of making a swing out arm for the anvil in my trailer like this but design it so it can slide up the tube so it can be used inside the trailer on wet days,has anyone tried this already and have they got any pics??Do you use a support leg or does it work fine without one??

I need to clean the trailer up some...add storage for odds and ends and get some paint on the swing out and the c channels for the anvil, that should do it for a while.

The people looking to add a swing out for your anvil! When fabricating this up I had it in with a few bolts slipped in the bottom (not tight and no nuts) and a pair of vise grips on the top and I could support my weight on it. Not sure how it would do with that everyday. Now that its bolted in it would take an army to get it out.

That support arm looks abit weak to me? I would think all the bounceing that a trailer does would eventually bend and brake it? I hope you have better luck than I did on my first attempt at a swing out support.

Gary, its .095 structural steel 2" id Was used for roll cages in race cars, top and bottoms are bolted to the frame. I think the strength is there but I guess we'll see in time.

My bad, I saw the bend and took that it was because of the weight already! You have it that way to fit, nice thought! Good Luck with it!

The tube is from the scrap pile it was bent from when we first got the tubing bending for building roll cages it was a test piece. Just so happens the bend worked out good and I left it at that.
