And FYI, the real reasons for me wanting to learn to trim were: I already had an interest in learning to do it. My last farrier, was the best one I'd found, and he was moving further away and losing some of his clients. I was one of them. So in the months before he moved I rode with him to learn what I could by doing that and when he came here to trim my herd, he'd have me trim the ponies while he trimmed the horses and would check my work afterwards, pointing out my mistakes and watching as I fixed them. (Back then, I erred on not trimming enough and righthand syndrome.) Believe what you want to. ![]()
