Re: Swine Flu hits farrier in Vermont

I had swine flu (Dr. diagnosed) about 2 months ago. I've talked to other people that have had chronic fatigue after the swine flu. IMHO, DHEA helped me get going again and shoe horses a few days after recovering. Look up DHEA on Wikipedia.com - you can get DHEA at Wal-mart that seems to be decent quality for less than $20 bucks.

Well we can thank the good old USA senate for swine flu, forcing some of the best brainy Americans mines in the world to have to resort to manipulating gens in pigs for developing hearts for heart transplants, in substandard labs in gringo land with all the risk involved :mad

I am not sure??
Interesting that it's the more developed places in the world that have such a concentration.

Karen, if I take vitamin D will it aide in my getting over this ?

my 2 cents worth
Takes a LONG time to build up Vit D stores. And, you should get tested to make sure you're deficient (but if you don't supplement and you live up north, it's pretty darn sure you are). However, if you get tested, make sure you get the numbers. Don't trust your doctor to tell you that your levels are ok. They are likely going by the legacy data which is horribly deficient!

I doubt that it would help much at this point. Vit D builds the immune system (if your body has enough of it available). It provides antiviral/antibiotic properties to the body. But, it only does that with the stores that are in your fat. If your body is not storing it (and it's also tougher for overweight people to store Vit D), then it doesn't help the immune system.

I thought that to ,could be because travel is easy for those in the developed world...sadly these things seem to hit the so called third world the worse..
Or they don`t go to doctors ,so there is no record of the cases????

Bruce,

Water. Drink lots of water. It may help flush it out of your system.
Even a plain cup of hot water helps me feel better sometimes.

Think about being well too.

Might want to check back with your doc, since this is dragging on. Maybe doc will want to do a little more bloodwork?

Take care Bruce! We want you feeling good.

Julie :-)
