Re: Making the decision...

Baron, as far as I'm concerned, getting a co-op membership is a no-brainer. What an awesome opportunity to learn and grow as a farrier. I highly recommend it.....

Re: Making the decision...

Hi Baron, what are the benefits to overseas farriers like me?
Would I still get the American Farriers Journal, without extra cost?

Regards, David

Hello David,

I wish I could tell you that there isn't an extra cost involved regarding the AFJ, but there's no getting around the reality that it costs a lot more postage to send it overseas. Direct from Lessiter Publications, a domestic subscription costs $47.95, and an overseas subscription cost $32 more, or $79.95. Through the Co-Op, it's an additional $30, so the Co-Op cost for overseas members is $155. Still, considering that of that $155, you would've paid more than half of that for an AFJ subscription, and you still have the other benefits available, it's an excellent deal. Attendance at the Online Conference, $50 discounts from some suppliers (which will cover a large portion of the overseas shipping costs!), discount to Summit, etc..., they all add up.

Thanks for your inquiry.

Re: Making the decision...

I just completed an order to a farrier that is receiving a 20% discount on his order!

It went like this:

70 pr front RayGuang snow rim pads @$6.20/pr $434.00
45 pr hind RayGuang snow rim pads @$6.20/pr $279.00
4 pkg R.Steele med pins @$22.00/pkg $ 88.00
5 D13 R.Steele drive studs @ $38.50/pkg $154.00
----------

total $955.00
----------

Minus 20%
$191.00
------------
New total $764.00

shipping and sales tax were also added but the tax was reduced because of the lower total and shipping would be the same, member or not!

You will need to do the #s to decide if it's worth it for you, this is just one actual example.

I think that the amount saved on just this one order paid for membership in the Co-Op or S.N.E.F.A.
