FYI, Patrick hasn't left, he's busy. Matter of fact he's one of the speakers making a presentation in the Online Conference.

As Bruce has opined above, new talent will emerge. Looking back isn't constructive. Looking forward is. Already I see new "talent" starting to emerge. An excellent example is Phillip Box (Box Forge). The knowledge and experience he's sharing is priceless. And he does it in a manner that is lauded by all, and offends none. A standard all should strive for.

I hope you've caught my drift here. Now lets move forward.

Have it your way but it sure seems the info isn't up to par anymore? The best reason to waste time on these threads was to walk away with your head spinning about what one misses on our own. The experiences shared are one thing, but when you get some juicey stuff that backs up and/ or confirms issues we deal with daily shoeing horses, it is a sad loss for all that it isn't there anymore. Kinda like killing the messenger but like the message? Backazzers?

No one got killed, and I've never made any secret of the fact that I always thought the knowledge was good. Nothing but respect for the posters in that regard. Regardless, if not done civilly, it's outta here.

Give it time, Gary. Others will step up. It's an ongoing process. The forums were here long before the "absent" ones, and will be here long after they're gone. Anyone who misses them so much knows where to find them. One other thing you may have overlooked is that not everyone is looking for the "head spinning" type stuff you may miss. Matter of fact, most aren't. Personally, I like it occasionally. But good solid "non-head spinning" stuff is desirable as well. To each his own.

Your input has been noted and is appreciated Gary. Your participation has always been an asset. But this will be the last post on the subject of what may be "missing" from "the absent ones." Future posts on the subject will be removed without comment. Let's move on.

First of all the Fugawy nation is an old Rugby story and part of a song that has been around for many years, I will only say it is a tribe that is four feet tall and lives in five foot grass thus "where the Fagawy".
Next, to be blunt without history you do not have a future. We learn from our mistakes not our successes.
Our industry would do better to look at those teachers that know what went wrong and were able to correct their mistakes and have the ability to show us the path so that we can go forward without making the same mistakes.
The height of ******ity is doing the same thing and expecting different results.
Those who reinvent the wheel are behind the curve.
This forum and the clinics being offered and the AFA and the Worshipful Company of farriers the WCB and European Farriers Association are where the future is.
People dedicated to the improvement of all of us as farriers and caregivers to the horse.

I think I met some of this lot when I lived and worked in Africa. There are actually 3 known sub-tribal groups within the Fugawi tribe, they are as follows ;-

The "Why-the-Fugawi", The "Who-the-Fugawi" and "Where-the-Fugawi". I didn't realise they'd made it over here?. Interesting....

They are normally about 2 foot high, and seen jumping up and down in tall grass.
