This is a palomino and quarter horse colt 4 days old. Thought I would post these pics for someone who hasn't seen this before. I would like to see a baby draft's feet. -Gary

Yup. If you go to my website, www.myfarrier.ca and look under the title foals and then go to Syrup, very close to the beginning (second pic I think) is a picture of his foot only a few hours old. I didn't think to get one from the bottom. I was so excited about the new baby and all. He is a Curly X Shetland. No, I didn't breed for him. Fence failure at the place I had his mom boarded out for a diet. Good thing I liked the sire, huh? Thus his name is Surreptitious Helix. hehe
The next foal I'll be thinking ahead. If all goes well, it will be an Irish Draught X Tb = Irish Sporthorse.

Must be a pretty gentle little fellow. Nice pictures.:)
He is almost done wearing off the soft baby hoof stuff.
Now, uness he is out on a hundred dry acres, get those heels rasped back asap , and he will be on his way to good quality feet. If he is turned out (BIG turn out, not the arena ) he should take care of them on his own pretty well.
(Pens and stalls do the most harm to foals hooves IMO.)

Aw thanks. He's quite the character. He's all grown up now and starting to do a little bit to earn his keep. He has a stubborn streak in him to challenge a mule BUT he's as steady/reliable as a mule: same difference isn't it? The kids can do a whole lot wrong and the worst he generally does is plants his feet and waits for them to see the value in his ideas instead. :)

Oh oh oh!! I know this is way old but I am new here and I just saw it. I have a weakness for baby feet so I had to leave my praises :) They are SO cute and squishy and small! What an adorable photo :D
