I went on a 10 mile trail ride this past Sunday, stopped by a camp ground to have a bite to eat. When I got ready to mount back up I noticed my horse had his left front leg extended out and placing no weight on it. I picked up his hoof and discovered he had stepped on a 1/2 inch stick and the stick was jammed up into his frog. Of coarse
I freaked out and pulled out the stick. A small amount of blood came out of the frog. Thankfully I was able to get a camper to drive me back to my truck and trailer so I did not have to ride my horse back 10 miles. When I arrived home I soaked the hoof with epson salt, medicated the hoof with Biocide gel, and wrapped the foot with a bandage and duct tape. The horse appears to be fine. My question is what else should I do if anything? I have been soaking the hoof
with more Epson salt and have used Peroxcide. the frog. I have noticed no lamness. Thanks
