here is one I did the other day. Qrt horse that "Plaites"/ toed out way of going. The sesamoid finally paid the price of the conformation and workload. here is the leg:

Here's what I had on him before the sesamoid "Blew Out"; Roller with Ray Steele's frog/wedge pad, screen and Equithane CS. Horse was notorious for ankle problems and contracted heels:

Here are some Rads that show some aspects of sesamoiditis, roughing of the sesamoid bones:
Slight Roughing:

Moderate Roughing:

"Just Damn" Roughing or as Maki said when he saw this , "Holy S7^T!":

Application of a barshoe and wedge pads; barshoe for the ankle and wedge pad for the negative palmar angle:

Rockered the toe at the 2nd nail holes; That technique of 'Rocking" will place "Break Point" just forward of P3 (within 1/4" of distal tip in most cases):

Shoe is ready for nailing; ground off the lateral heel and heel quarter for "impact and load" characteristics of the leg/foot/ and horse:

A couple of pics of what the barshoe supports. I wanted some be not to much, it goes back to the old adage in some minds "If a little is good more can be better". Not concerning ankles IMO.
The horse was jogged and evaluated by the vet and was happier; went from a 4 to a 2 on the lameness scale. protocol is rest, shock wave, sweats and handwalking for 3-8 weeks:

Great pictures. Was the bar wedge instead of a full wedge pad to keep the package lighter?

I have been called to shoe a horse with a similar injury. Have not seen the horse recently so cannot give much info on him. I did notice your shoe was fit wide in the heels was this for the contracted heels or another reason, also would filling that area around the heels and around the back of the foot with a vettec product help with some extra support, like equibuild, I have done that to keep them from pulling shoes but didn't know if it would give any support.
Thanks, Justin
