What is a good brand of bedslides? I have seen the Extendo-Beds and they seem great, but I thought I would ask to see if there are any other brand that some may like, too.

Eli,
Here is some information on bed slides. http://www.800toolbox.com/gorilla/gorilla_slide.htm
This company (Highway Products) also make some of the nicest tool box systems and truck accessories that I have yet to see.
I hope this helps.

I did see this product via e-bay. It looks like good stuff. Have you seen the bedslide personally?

I have an extend-o-bed. I would venture to say it will outlast both my truck and possibly my career. It is really heavy duty. It is also really heavy if you are on any amount of slope. Parked flat, it's great. To do over again, I'd have them make me one that is half the bed of the truck and install non-mobile shoe and propane racks. I have to do alot of climbing to reach anything in the middle row of shoe racks or the top tray. Plus, it exposes most of my tools and supplies to the weather if I pull it out to get to my drill press, the majority of the shoes and tool trays.

I have a full bed slide and a cross slide shoe rack that rests on the bed rails in the front of my ARE cap. They were both made by Advantage Customs in Wichita KS ( http://advantagecustom.com/ ). They are extremely stout and quite reasonable. The do both steel and aluminum and do full rigs as well as slides and trailers.

I have an extendo bed.
I love it, and set up in no time
and everything is bolted to the bed...ahh don't say it!!:rolleyes::D
it's a good set up, no trailer, and in an out of small farms, too.

Update,
I ended up buying a bedslide, not the Extendo-Bed. The Bedslide is not NEAR as stout as the Extendo-Bed and wished I would have just bought the Extendo-Bed from the beginning.

Eli,
I rode with a farrier that had an Extendo-bed for a long time. He is a whiz for fabricating. Do not limit yourself to what is attatched to the slide. If you want to move and relocate and customize things so you do not have to climb in and out; then do it. Maybe a someone you know can to the fabricating for you. The slide-out is the slate for your art to begin.

I went with the extendo bed because it looked sturdier. It is. I really like it 98% of the time, but there are times when you can't park flat and either pulling it out or pushing it in takes all the strength you got left and then shoeing the horse is tough. But that's only once in a while. It's rugged and takes a beating and does everything I need it to. I like the extendo bed, but the next truck will have a body.

Advantage Customs in Wichita Kansas custom makes roll/slide out units for farriers and fire departments. I also have a side to side roll out shoe rack that they made. They tend to be less expensive and heavy on the stout.

I have an ARE topper with side boxes on both sides, a Bedslide, forge, band saw, drill press, belt sander, and a "custom" Quantum storage bins screwed together forming a compartment for most everything I need. It is still a work in progress, but it works for me and the cost has been minimal. The storage bins have been great, even in very cold weather.

On one side of the topper I have two batteries and a 3000 watt continuous inverter with 0 wire to the alternator. I have any power need on hand-even in the middle of nowhere.
